Clarity

Clarity refers to how many inclusions are present in a diamond.  Because diamonds are formed by nature, most diamonds have inclusions, these special markings makes each diamond unique. Depending on the size and location of the inclusion can also determine which grade it will fall into.  Below you will find the different categories of inclusions, beginning with the rarest.

Flawless/internally Flawless (FL- IF)

The diamond is free from inclusions or if blemish on the surface.

Very, Very Small Inclusions (VVS1-VVS2)

Inclusions are difficult for a trained eye to see under 10 power.

Very Small Inclusions (Vs1- VS2)

Inclusions are difficult to somewhat easy to see under 10 power.

Small Inclusions (SI1- SI2)

Inclusions are easily seen under 10 power with a train eye.

Included (I1-I2-I3)

Inclusions are medium to large and can be seen to the unaided eye.
